In order to obtain titanium tube castings with excellent repair welding quality, the following points should be paid attention to in the repair welding process: (1) The surface of the repaired castings must be cleaned and dried, and the castings are not allowed to be touched directly by hands before loading into the welding box. (2) In the repair welding process of titanium tube, prevent short circuit between tungsten electrode and the repair welding parts, resulting in the fracture of tungsten electrode, resulting in tungsten inclusion in the solder joint. (3) When the area and depth of the repair welding area is relatively large, it should be divided into multiple distant layer welding, and to wait for the previous layer of welding layer is fully cooled before the next layer of welding, definitely not allowed to weld, in order to prevent casting deformation. (4) At the end of repair welding, the current should be gradually reduced to narrow the melting zone. Therefore, it is recommended to use pulse current to prevent sharp arc breaking, resulting in cracks. (5) After the repair welding, the casting should be cooled in the box for a period of time before opening the box to take out the casting to prevent cracks or deformation in the welding area of the casting caused by rapid cooling; the length of cooling time depends on the wall thickness of the casting, commonly 15-30mm. (6) After repairing welding of titanium tube castings, annealing or hot isostatic pressing should be done in time. It should not be used for too long, normally not more than 5 days. (7) The number of repair welding shall not exceed the provisions of the relevant technical documents. It is required that the Titanium Pipe manufacturer should not have flowing air in the environment of titanium pipe repair welding, which is otherwise the same as the repair welding in the welding box. However, special attention should be paid to: (1) The area of repair welding should not be too large, the flow of nitrogen in the repair welding process should be large, and the gas can not be stopped in the middle; (2) After repair welding, continue to pass nitrogen protection until the area cools; (3) For some special castings, such as complex thin-wall castings, in order to prevent oxidation on the back of the welding area, argon gas can be blown on the back until the casting is cooled; (4) Repair welding operators are required to have a higher technical level.
